The grads are celebrating, the teachers have marked their final exam and the schools are now closed.
Another school year is the books with graduation ceremonies all last week and Keewatin Patricia District School Board Director of Education Sean Monteith is thanking all of his staff for another successful year.
Monteith says getting to graduation requires significant heavy lifting on the part of his teachers, education assistants, early childhood educators, principles, custodians and other staff members.
He says graduating students ranged from one in Pickle Lake to 150 in each of Dryden and Kenora and stresses they are all worthy of recognition.
Monteith notes one highlight for him was the adult ed graduation in Kenora on Wednesday.
He calls the program a pinnacle of achievement.
Monteith notes the valedictorian last year was a 68-year-old man, with his grandkids in the crowd.
This year featured a Red Lake mom, with five daughters.
