A hike for residents in long term care homes is not fair according to the administrator of the Kenora District Home of the Aged.
Kevin Queen says the province has capped rent increases at 3.9-percent this year and suggests the 15-percent increase for residents of long term care homes is way out of line.
Queen says despite the hike in resident fees as of August 1st, the province is only increasing funding to long term care homes by about two percent this year.
Kenora District Home of the Aged oversees long term care homes in Dryden (Princess Court) and Red Lake.
