They’re mad as Hell and they’re not going to take it anymore.
A rally is scheduled to take place Saturday to protest the condition of area highways.
Ear Falls resident Steve Smith is leading the charge.
The ‘Rally for Safer Roads’ will be taking place in Vermillion Bay near the intersection of Highway 17 and 105 at 10:00am.
Smith is encouraging motorists from across the northwest to attend in a bid to convince the province to take action.
Highway closures across the region were almost a weekly occurance last month, including several closures of Highway 105.
Smith has started a Facebook page called ‘Highway 105, Residents for Better Roads’.
Smith says people can go online and share horror stories and pictures as well as update road conditions.
He notes a recent trip from Ear Falls to Dryden inspiried the page as the highway was glare ice.
More than 1,500 have already joined his page in just over a week.
