Premier Kathleen Wynne says the provincial hydro rate reduction plan will benefit First Nations communities.
She says they will be removing distribution and delivery charges from hydro bills for on-reserve electricity users.
Wynne notes she has been meeting with the regional chief and other leaders from reserves to discuss the issue and she understands their concerns.
Wynne continues to try and sell the governments plan.
Wynne says one area they wanted to tackle was the Global Adjustment fee, which makes up most of your hydro bill.
She says they are restructuring the system and spreading the cost of building a clean and reliable system over 30-years, instead of a 20-year time frame.
Wynne says the change should amount to a roughly 15% cut to the Global Adjustment fee.
The Liberals are looking to cut hydro rates by 25% in total.
