The Rainy River District School Board has passed a balanced budget for the coming school year but there are still areas of concern.
Chief Financial Officer Laura Mills says the Provincial funding does not properly cover secretaries, maintenance staff or transportation.
Mills notes $448,000 is needed to cover busing costs and the Board will be forced to divert money from other programs to cover costs.
She says another worrisome factor is declining enrolment, the Board will lose 70 students next year.
However, students with special needs will be better served next year.
Mills says there are increased hours for Special Ed Assistants and Librarians.
