A case of good news-bad news for the Ministry of Natural Resources.
A MNR spokesperson says an 820-hectare bush fire in the Amesdale-Rugby Lake area is still not under control, and the fire is expected to spread throughout the day.
The blaze forced the evacuation of homes in Amesdale, Amesdale Lake, and Richan Road yesterday.
Police and the MNR have not issued an official evacuation notice, however it is recommended.
Luckily no homes have been destroyed but as a precautionary measure the MNR has installed sprinkler systems at nearby homes.
Meantime, the Lorne Lake access road and Highway 665 from Henderson North Loop to Richan Road is closed.
In Ignace, a fire that forced the evacuation of several homes yesterday continues to burn, however the MNR says they expect to get a handle on the blaze later today.
The bush fire started about three kilometres west of Ignace, and threatened a small sub-division in the area.
However, residents were allowed to return to their homes late last night.
