A great end to the All-Ontario Girls High School Soccer Championships for the Dryden Eagles.
The Eagles won their final game of the round-robin 1-0 over the West Ferris Trojans from North Bay on Friday.
Kaija Maenpaa scored Dryden’s goal, after accepting a feed from Monica Tourond.
Dryden finished the tournament with a win, a tie and two losses, not enough to push them to the playoff round.
However, the Eagles won the OFSAA Sportsmanship Award out of the 40-participating teams.
The team was selected by the organizing committee but also received nominations from two other opposition teams.
