Charles Everett
August 20, 1939 – November 23, 2017
It is with deep sadness that the family of Charles Everett of Meldrum Bay, ON announce his passing peacefully at the Manitoulin Lodge in Gore Bay ON, on Thursday November 23rd 2017.
Charles was born in Mindemoya, ON on August 20th 1939.
He was predeceased by his parents Helen and George Everett and his brother Allen Everett.
Charles is survived by his wife of 58 years Helen Everett (Marshall), son Christopher Everett (Valerie), daughters Laura Mallory (Ed) and Charlene Everett (Warren). Also by his siblings, Harold Everett (Bernice) ,Dianne Everett, Lorna Maki (Gord), sister in law Kathleen Everett, beloved grandchildren Ryan, Jamie, Ashley, Darci-lyn, Abby, Brendan, Paige, Sydney and Kaisha and great grandchildren, Cayden, Isabella and Brynlee as well as several nieces and nephews.
Charles first met Helen in High School in Gore Bay where they became instant sweethearts and were Married on June 19th 1959.
Charles spent most of his life working in the Forestry Industry starting with the KVP Company and then on to Reed Paper, Great Lakes Paper and Avenor.
Charles and Helen then went on to own the Town and Country Motel in Dryden, ON and then the Mohawk Motel in Massey, ON.
In his retirement, Charles was a Mason, a member of The Eastern Star, The Shriners and Royal Arches.
Charles loved the outdoors. He loved to hunt and fish, and remote camping excursions were always his specialty. He built homes and cabins and there was nothing that he couldn’t fix in one way or another.
A private family service has been held.
Cremation has taken place.
