It is with great sadness we announce the passing of William Claude Madder, September 8th, 2014. Not only did we lose a wonderful husband but also a loving father, grandfather, great grandfather and uncle.
Claude was born in Dryden Ontario on October 19th, 1927. He was the youngest son of Charles and Myrtle Madder. In 1952 he married Jessie Stadey and this past March they celebrated their 62nd anniversary. They were blessed with five children. Claude worked for the Department of Highways Thunder Bay area for many years. He became a Patrol Foreman in Upsala before moving back to Dryden in 1965. Claude’s life was centered around his family. He was very fond of the large family gatherings.
Claude is survived by his wife Jessie, three daughters, Barbara (Ron) Brown, Karen (Gord) Bunt and Cheryl (Jeff) Newman, one son Douglas (Donna) Madder and a daughter-in-law Lori (Greg) Chase. Also surviving are thirteen grandchildren, Bill and Mike Brown, Jodie Jennings, Sarah Lappage, Ryan Bunt, Jonathon Madder, Shannon Watson, Amanda and Bob Newman, Steven and Jennifer Madder, Luc and Emily Chase and eighteen great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents, son Robert (Bob), one sister and four brothers.
A private family celebration of life and interment was held in the Dryden Cemetery.
You always had a smile to share
Time to give and time to care
A loving nature kind and true
Is the way we’ll remember you.
