We now know a little more about today’s fatal shooting that has shocked all of Canada.
The shooter has been identified as 32-year-old Michael Zehaf Bibeau, a Canadian citizen living in Quebec.
A 24 year-old reservist was killed around 9 o’clock central this morning while guarding the National War Memorial in Ottawa.
Corporal Nathan Cirillo was a native of Hamilton.
The suspected shooter was later killed in a hail of gun fire in the Halls of Honour at the Parliament Building.
It led to a lockdown in the downtown core involving political staffers, MP’s, businesses and the general public for most of the day.
Lockdowns have been eased in the last couple of hours, however Police continue to comb the area.
Police still haven’t commented on how many shooters were involved but various media reports indicate the sense of urgency in the area isn’t as high.
