An arson investigation in Cat Lake First Nation has resulted in charges.
On July 14, Nishnawbe Aski Police Service officers received reports of a fire in the community.
Officers were sent to Back Road and found a warehouse engulfed in flames.
Officers and contractors on site were able to put out the fire but a significant amount of building materials were destroyed.
An estimated $500,000, worth of materials were damaged.
The materials were supposed to be used to build more homes for the community which has been dealing with housing challenges.
An investigation by NAPS determined the fire was caused by arson, and two suspects were identified.
On Wednesday police were able to locate and arrest the suspects.
As a result of the investigation two teens from Cat Lake First Nation have been charged with Arson – Damage to property.
The accused have been released from custody with conditions and a future court date.
