The City of Dryden is hoping the second time is a charm.
It’s applying for the second intake of the Housing-Enabling Water Systems Fund.
Chief Administrative Officer Roger Nesbitt there a number of infrastructure programs for increased housing they can apply for.
“Our municipality has submitted applications to one of those funding streams,” Nesbitt told Dryden council at their open meeting earlier this week.
“We weren’t successful in that in that intake, but there is a second intake open, and I’m very optimistic we will be very successful. There are also other funding streams opening up from the province.”
Mayor Jack Harrison believes the city will be successful this time around in securing funding.
“We weren’t successful in the first round, but the Minister of Infrastructure, Minister Surma announced the second round, which will have more focus on the north and rural. So, we’re hopeful that our application, which we feel is very strong, will be successful.”
Harrison says they have a couple of large housing projects coming online and he’s grateful that developers continue to find Dryden a good city of invest in.
