The Municipality of Machin is working to develop a new subdivision.
It would have 10 lots located on Blue Lake Road.
Economic Development Officer Max Nagy says it’s ideally located.
“Right up the road from Vermilion Bay so you’re not too far away from services,” explains Nagy.
“You also have a little bit of privacy back there too. It is close to our airport property, which isn’t used very much.”
Nagy adds they are in the process of having the lots surveyed.
“All the vacant property, except for the one that has a test well drilled. We’re in the process of having them appraised as well.”
Some of the hurdles the municipality still has to cross are zoning the properties from rural, to rural residential, a servicing plan for Hydro One and approval for sewage treatment from the Northwestern Health Unit.
