Dryden City Council has agreed to spend $210,000 for a sewer and water project in the Sandy Beach area.
The idea is to improve water quality by looping lines to Mario Milanese Place.
Chief Administrative Officer Roger Nesbitt says this is seen as a priority project.
“We don’t really have enough infrastructure money to do all the capital work that needs to be done in the community,” Nesbitt told city council at Monday night’s open meeting.
“So, then it comes down to setting priorities, and it’s staff’s recommendation that this particular project be placed at a high priority.”
Nesbitt calls this an emergency repair”
“It needs to be done. The issues in the water distribution in that neighborhood is impacting residents. We’re asking council to put a high priority on this project.”
Makkinga Construction out of Thunder Bay will be doing the work this fall.
