The 42nd Keewaywin Conference and Nishnawbe Aski Nation Elections are taking place this week.
The conference kicks off on Tuesday with the election taking place on Wednesday.
Current Grand Chief Alvin Fiddler is up for re-election, and he is going against Pauline Penena Mickelson from Sachigo Lake First Nation and Bobby A. Narcisse from Aroland First Nation.
The position of Deputy Grand Chief is already fairly set with current Deputy Grand Chiefs Anna Betty Achneepineskum and Bobby Narcisse running for three open positions alongside Mike Metatawabin of Fort Albany First Nation.
Elections are held once every three years.
The conference kicks off tomorrow with the election taking place on Wednesday.
