The Municipality of Machin is trying to drum up interest in its Community Improvement Grant.
It was launched following the passage of the municipal budget back in May.
Economic Development Officer Max Nagy says grants are available in a number of different categories.
“Funding was approved in the budget for offering up to $10,000 in incentives,” explains Nagy.
“So, we offer 5 different incentives in that program: the facade improvement grant, the signage improvement grant, the demolition grant, the tax increment grant and the permit and rebate grant.”
Nagy says they are focusing on a couple of different areas.
“We chose the two project areas. Along the Highway 17 corridor being one of them in Vermilion Bay and through Spruce Street in Vermilion Bay.”
This is the first time Machin has launched a Community Improvement Plan.
