Move over Harbourfest and make way for Shake the Lake.
The music festival is taking over the Kenora Harbourfront on Saturday.
Jason Petric is one of the organizers and will perform this weekend.
He says they tried to balance a number of different musical styles.
“We tried to take into consideration some of our opinions of past events, some of the town’s opinions,” explains Petric.
“One thing you always hear…why is there no country…or let’s do rock…or why are there not local bands. Tried to listen to that and tried to put everything we could into this line-up.”
Petric adds the trick is to balance the musical tastes of people that might want to attend.
“We did our best. I’m sure we won’t be perfect throughout this weekend but we’re going to do the best we can, and I know these bands are going to give us one heck of a show. Every person who steps on the stage is super-talented. They’re going to give you everything they have.”
Default is the headliner, with Coleman Hell, Petric, North Shore and Jackson Klippenstein also performing.
While the actual Shake the Lake concert will take place Saturday evening, there will be events all weekend, including the car show, boat parade and specialty market on Sunday.
