Emma O’Cronin, Mary-Sophie Harvey, Julie Brousseau and Ella Jansen placed sixth in this morning’s heats.
Meanwhile, three Canadian swimmers are advancing to this evening’s semifinals in individual events.
Kylie Masse placed second in the women’s 200m backstroke heats, Josh Liendo finished 15th in the men’s 50m freestyle heats, and Finlay Knox placed 13th in the men’s 200m individual medley heats.
Also in the pool today, swimmer Summer McIntosh looks to medal in the women’s 200m butterfly final.
Elsewhere in Paris, Canada’s women’s eight rowing team placed second in this morning’s repechage to move on to the final.
And Canadian boxer Wyatt Sanford beat Ruslan Abdullaev of Uzbekistan in the men’s 63.5kg quarterfinal.
Still to come, Ellie Black and Ava Stewart compete in the women’s individual all-around final in artistic gymnastics.
Canada’s women’s basketball team will play Australia in group play. The Canadians lost to France in their first game.
Heading into Thursday, Canada had seven medals: two gold, two silver and three bronze.
