The City of Dryden has just received one tender for the rehabilitation of 1,500 meters of Highway 594.
Brennan Paving had a bid of just over $1.23 million for the work.
Project and Asset manager for the city Madhav Raithatha says the contractor will try to cause of little disruption as possible.
“They are not going to be closing the road itself,” Raithatha told city council at Monday night’s open meeting.
“There will be access to the public. They will be closing one lane at a time, so the road will be open.”
Chief Administrative Officer Roger Nesbitt says the provincial portion comes from the Connecting Link fund.
“That funding program that the MTO (Ministry of Transportation) administers is a fantastic program. It’s a 90 percent funded program. It really does fantastic things for us in the community. You’ll see more of that coming up in the next month on Highway 594.”
Work is expected to begin in the middle of August and wrap by the September 20th at the latest.
