Christine “Chris” Angela Gallinger nee Maki
December 14, 1958 – May 27, 2024
In loving memory of Christine “Chris” Angela Gallinger, who passed away peacefully at Dryden Regional Health Centre Monday, May 27th with loving family and friends by her side.
Chris was born December 14, 1958 in Fort Frances, Ontario to Raymond and Annette Maki. She lived in Fort Frances area before moving to Winnipeg and years later to Finland, Ontario, where she and her husband, Murray Gallinger, lived on the family farmstead before moving to Dryden.
Chris had an avid love for music and could play the organ without ever taking a lesson. One of her favourite songs was “I hope you dance”. Chris also had an affinity for writing and penned two books of her own titled Justified and Beyond Justified.
Chris is survived by her husband, Murray, and her sons Ricky Costik, Randy Costik, Murray Gallinger, Jr. (Sunny), Matt Gallinger (Kate), Mason Gallinger (Carlee) and Mitchell Gallinger (Bradey). She is also survived by her mother, Annette Bush, sisters, Barbara Landry (Ken), Laura Angelucci and Rose McKone (Shane), brothers Wayne and Robert Maki, as well as many beloved aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, sister and brothers-in-law and close friends.
Chris is also survived by her eight beautiful grandchildren Jeremy, Jason, Jordan, Geneva, Colt, Taylor, Kaylee and Zoey. Her precious companion dog, Pepper, is also left to grieve her passing.
She was predeceased by her infant son, Timothy Costik, her father, Raymond Maki, grandparents Matti and Hilma Maki and Patrick and Anna Mae Jordens, Uncle Francis Jordens, Auntie Milya Maki, Uncle Sulo Maki, stepfather Dennis Bush, in-laws Percy and Siiri Gallinger, stepsister Tanya Maki and her beloved dogs, Rusty and Molly.
As per Chris’ wishes, cremation has taken place and a Private Memorial Service will be held at Staunton Lake, Ontario, August 3, 2024.
