Ross Davidson
December 29, 1947 – May 29, 2024
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the unexpected passing of Ross Davidson, who passed away suddenly on May 29th at the age of 76.
Ross is survived by his daughters Valerie Davidson (Chris) and Vickie Davidson (Phil), four cherished grandchildren Cassidy and Kaitlynn Desjardins, and David and Daphne Webb, brother Brian Davidson (Fatima), sister-in-law Wendy Northcott-Davidson, numerous nieces and nephews, God-daughter Melany Priebe, and his best friend, four-legged companion, Bella. Ross was predeceased by his parents Jim and Gwen Davidson, brother Owen Davidson, and son Stephen Davidson.
Ross was raised in Dryden, only leaving briefly to work in Kamloops, BC. Upon moving back to his hometown in Dryden he spent the remaining of his working years at the Dryden Pulp and Paper Mill until his retirement.
In his younger years he enjoyed fishing, camping, bird hunting, hanging out with his long-time friends and coffee buddies at Timber Lanes or playing pool at The Central. When he wasn’t in the great outdoors or at his favourite hangouts, he would build model airplanes in his living room and fly them at the Dryden Flying Club where he was always excited to watch his planes take flight. He had a love for animals, especially dogs, and was a proud member of the Canadian Kennel Club. Showing his prized Great Danes was a passion of his that he fondly looked back on long after he left “show business”. As his family grew and he moved away from competition dog shows, he was still never seen without a canine companion close by his side. In his later years Ross would often be seen around town, at various parks or frequenting his favourite local landmarks with Bella. He enjoyed attending the meat draws and pool tables at The Legion. He loved anything that challenged his mind, with a love for the game of chess, crossword puzzles or brain teaser puzzles. Ross had a great sense of humour, always a goofy kid at heart. In contrast he was a man of few words, content to sit in comfortable silence taking in the world around him.
Per Ross’s wishes, cremation has taken place, and no service will occur. A private interment will occur at a later date.
