Police have made an arrest on the Kingfisher Lake First Nation in a serious assault.
The Nishnawbe Aski Police Service was contacted on Monday about an assault at a residence in the community.
The victim sustained serious and life-threatening injuries and was flown out of the First Nation by air ambulance to hospital for treatment.
Due the nature of the victim’s injuries the OPP’s Criminal Investigations Branch was contacted.
On Wednesday, an 18 year old was arrested.
He’s been charged with aggravated assault and escaping custody.
NAPS is continuing the investigation under the direction of the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch, with assistance from the OPP Major Case Investigation Team, Regional Support Team, Provincial Liaison Team.
The suspect remains in custody and will appear in Kenora Court on the charges on Monday.
