Patsy Bazinet
December 30, 1962 – May 9, 2024
It is with heavy heart that we announce the passing of our beloved Patsy, age 61,
May 9, 2024. Patsy Bazinet was the youngest child of Rose and Donald Bazinet.
Born in Sturgeon Falls Ontario, Patsy was a welcome addition to an already large family. From day one Patsy won our hearts, smiles and love and continued to be a
source of pleasure to everyone she met throughout her life.
Everyone who knew Patsy was instantly attracted to her kind and gentle spirit and her limitless appreciation for life. Patsy unquestionly loved others and was showered with love in return. Growing up with Down Syndrome was not always easy, but the support Patsy received from family, friends and community contributed to the long life Patsy ultimately lived. Although she had limited speech, she communicated with others in a way that usually got her understood. Patsy lived most of her life in Dryden.
And attended George P Vanier School (for special needs student), but, never quite felt like she belonged there as she always saw herself just as any other person in her entourage; largely because we made her feel like she was no different than anyone else.
Patsy was a card, and always sure to entertain when in a group. Patsy was often the life of the party. We can all recount some of her gut splitting antics. Patsy adored her nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews and was always so excited when news came of another arrival. Patsy spent countless hours writing stories that none of us ever got to understand because they were written in her own made-up script. In another life she must have been quite the author.
Patsy was predeceased by her parents, Rose and Donald Bazinet and brother-in-law Kenn Parker. She is survived by her 12 siblings : Martial (Betty), Richard (Monique), Allan (Claudette), Walter (Judy), Raymonde (Guy), Rejeanne (Mike), Danny (Bonnie), Donald, Guy (Carol), Linda, Claude (Linda), and Jeannine (Jack). As well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Patsy will be greatly missed, but we know that her Heavely Father was there to welcome her, into her new home in heaven, with open arms.
A special thank you to all the staff at Princess Court who cared for Patsy during her brief stay there. And also, a HUGE THANKS to her ever fabulous , so very CARING sisters.
There will be no visitation as cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date in the summer.
