A proposed ‘micro-hotel’ for Dryden is still in the works, but has delayed its construction start until February of 2025 pending approval from city council.
The project first appeared before council early last year, which would see a 76 room hotel built at 325 Government Street, near the skywalk.
As Chief Building Official Pam Skillen explains the initial tender was more than what the Dryden Hotel Group had planned.
“So they’ve since now had those conversations have some real numbers in front of them, but because of that delay in achieving that new investment target, they’re asking for an extension on the site plan control.”
The only change to the original site plan is the construction start date, and all other elements of the project remain untouched.
So far the city has received a payment of $200,000 to secure the initial agreement.
Council had no objections to the request during Monday’s meeting and is expected to give its approval at its next meeting on March 11th.
