Michael Darren Parenteau (J.R.) – Nanoo-Keesick (Five Skys)
August 15, 1980 – January 27, 2024
We announce the beginning of J.R.’s journey with the heaviest of hearts. He was born on August 15th, 1980, and began his Journey on January 27th, 2024.
J.R. is survived by his partner Norma Jean Trout, Daughter Tehya Parenteau, Sons Koltyn, Kayden, Kayan Parenteau, Mother Violet Skye-Thomas (Scott Thomas), Father Michael Parenteau, Brothers Tim Parenteau (Chickey Brown), and Aaron Parenteau, Sister Chelsea Perrault, (Taylor Ames), Grandfather (Boppa) Bill Parenteau, Grandmother (Kokum) Elizabeth Danielson, Numerous Uncles, Aunts, Cousins, Nieces, and his Godmother Loretta Parenteau. Predeceased by his Grandmother Millie Parenteau (Mama) – on December 6th, 2002.
J.R. was a hardcore Edmonton Oilers fan and a fan of Tiger Woods; he liked to watch the WWE and play crib. J.R. really enjoyed his many days on Perrault Lake, guiding at Manotak Lodge and Rocky Shore, also his pleasure fishing on Wabigoon Lake and Keejic Bay. J.R. will truly be remembered for his great sense of humour and a smile that will never be forgotten.

Visitation will begin on Monday, January 29, 2024 at 11 a.m. until time of service at the Metis Community Centre.
A Traditional Service will take place on Wednesday, January 31, 2024 at 1 p.m. with Elder Roy Napish officiating at the Metis Community Centre.
Cremation will follow with interment at a later date.
