The Ice Dogs won both of their games this weekend after a 5-3 victory Friday night against the Fort Frances Lakers.
The Kam River Fighting Walleye remain in second place even though they dropped two of three games played in Red Lake.
Yesterday they were doubled up 6-3 by the Miners and that followed up on a 2-1 win by the Miners on Saturday night.
The Fighting Walleye won 8-4 on Friday night.
Right on Kam River’s heels are the Thunder Bay North Stars.
The Stars won both of their home games against the Wisconsin Lumberjacks, 4-2 on Saturday and 7-3 Friday night.
Thunder Bay and the Fighting Walleye each have 47 points, but Kam River has two games in hand.
Red Lake and Dryden are right behind at 46 points.
The Kenora Islanders are still looking for their first win of 2024 after they were edged 3-2 by the Fort Frances Lakers.
A tough weekend for the Kenora U18 AAA Thistles.
They dropped both of their games.
On Saturday, they were beaten 4-2 by the Norman North Stars.
Cole Bodnar had both goals for Thistles in that game.
On Friday night, Kenora dropped a 6-2 decision to the Winnipeg Thrashers at the Moncrief Construction.
Bo Gartzke and Cayson Lambert each scored the Thistle goals in that game.
The Thistles next game is on Wednesday night when they host the Winnipeg Bruins.
