The Northern Ontario Heritage Funding is spreading $1.2 million in employment grants in the Kenora-Rainy River Riding.
Chair of the Heritage Fund Greg Rickford says 45 businesses and non-profits are benefiting.
The funding comes from the People and Talent program.
Atlantic Industries in Kenora is getting $35,000 to hire a plant supervisor and the Kenora and District Chamber of Commerce will receive just over $8,000 for a membership and marketing intern.
Other recipients include the Kenora District Services Board for a program analyst, the Couchiching First Nation for a apprentice in public administration and the Experimental Lakes Area for a field technician.
Funding ranges from about $4,500 up to just over $36,000 for local businesses, agencies and non-profit groups.
