The Sioux Lookout Bombers are still on the top of the standings in the SIJHL.
The Bombers split their games against the Kam River Fighting Walleye over the weekend.
Saturday, the Walleye downed the Bombers 3-2 in overtime.
Sioux Lookout earned a shutout on Friday night, 2-0 against Kam River.
The Bombers are still four points ahead of the Fighting Walleye for first place, but Kam River still has two games in hand.
Elsewhere, the Thunder Bay North Stars and the Dryden GM Ice Dogs won both of their games over the weekend.
The North Stars started the weekend off with a 6-3 win over the Wisconsin Lumberjacks and followed that up with a 6-3 win over the Fort Frances Lakers on Saturday.
The Ice Dogs got by the Kenora Islanders by scores of 7-1 and 8-4 in Vermilion Bay.
The Red Lake Miners only had one game, and defeated the Fort Frances Lakers 7-3 on Friday night.
Tonight, the Wisconsin Lumberjacks are in Kenora to meet the Islanders.
The Kenora U18 AAA Thistles are playing better hockey in the new year.
The Thistles split their games in Shoal Lake, Manitoba against the Yellowhead Chiefs.
Yesterday, the Chiefs edged the Thistles 4-3 in overtime. That followed up on a 3-2 win by the Thistles on Saturday.
At the Winterblast girls high school volleyball tournament in Kenora, the Fort Frances Muskies took first place after defeating the host St. Thomas Aquinas Saints in the final.
The the junior girls final, Red Lake defeated the Saints to win gold.
