A Kasabonika Lake First Nation man faces a number of charges following a pair of assaults over the weekend.
According to Ontario Provincial Police, officers on patrol in Sioux Lookout were flagged down around 9:15 p.m. Saturday and advised of a disturbance in the community.
An investigation revealed the 25 year old had assaulted an individual, and was quickly located.
However, as he was being placed under arrest, he attempted to resist and assaulted an officer.
Charges include:
- Assault with intent to resist arrest
- Assault
- Failure to comply with release order – five counts
He was remanded into custody for bail and will appear in court today.
