The Dryden Fire Service has announced that it has purchased a new fire truck that they say is “state of the art”.
The new truck named Ladder 24 is equipped with a 500-gallon water capacity, a 2000-gallon per minute pump, and a 75-foot ladder with a 1250-gallon per minute master stream.
The truck is capable of transporting up to five firefighters, and the seats of the truck are equipped with self-contained breathing apparatuses.
In addition to the new truck, the service also announced the purchase of a new ice auger which is an upgrade from the previous one.
In the winter an ice auger is used to create holes in the ice big enough to fit the suction hose in the water.
