A new music festival is coming to Kenora.
The line up for Shake the Lake has officially been announced.
Jason Petric is one of the organizers and says it’s will be taking place the August long weekend.
“We’re going to be set up all weekend down there,” enthuses Petric.
“We got a few really cool ideas that we’re not going to share just yet, so we hope people stay tuned. We some pretty cool plans for Friday and for Sunday as well. It’s going to be an awesome weekend.”
The musical acts announced are Default, Coleman Hell, Petric, North Shore and Jackson Klippenstein.
Petric adds they tried to book as many different music styles as possible.
“We wanted to offer everybody something and that’s not easy to do, and it might not be easy to do again like this year. But there’s always that debate…’we want country…we want rock.’ I hope we did a decent job and everyone is happy with it.”
While there is only live music on the Saturday of the long weekend, a DJ will be under the Jarnel Contracting Pavilion Friday night and there will also be a wooden boat parade and car show on the Harbourfront.
