At the most recent city council meeting on December 11th council approved a 6.3% increase to the water and sewer billing rates, effective December 29, 2023.
The city hopes this will aid its initiative to build a financially sustainable foundation for the maintenance and replacement of water and sewer-related infrastructure.
“The decision to adjust water and sewer billing rates is driven by our commitment to the long-term health and sustainability of our community’s essential infrastructure,” stated Mayor Jack Harrison.
“By gradually increasing our contributions to the reserves, we aim to create a solid financial base that will support timely replacements and
upgrades, ensuring the reliability and efficiency of our water and sewer systems.”
The increase aligns with the City’s Waterworks Long-Range Financial Plan which was approved by council in 2020 and addresses the financial needs of the city while attempting to minimize the impact on its residents.
The City of Dryden is encouraging residents to reach out with any questions or concerns regarding this adjustment.
