The Kam River Fighting Walleye are back on top of the standings in the Superior Junior International Hockey League.
The Walleye have 38 points, the same as the Sioux Lookout Bombers, but have two games in hand.
Over the weekend Kam River beat the Dryden GM Ice Dogs twice.
On Saturday night, the Fighting Walleye cruised to a 9-2 win, which followed up on their 4-0 shutout victory on Friday night.
The Bombers only played one game over the weekend, defeating the Thunder Bay North Stars 5-2 Saturday night.
In other games, the Kenora Islanders continue to struggle with a pair of losses in Spooner, Wisconsin.
The Wisconsin Lumberjacks edged the Islanders 5-3 on Saturday and trounced the Islanders 10-3 on Friday night.
The Red Lake Miners also won both of their games with a 5-3 win over the Fort Frances Lakers on Sunday and 7-4 on Saturday.
A tough road trip for the Kenora U18 AAA Thistles in the Manitoba U18 AAA hockey league.
The Thistles dropped a pair of games in Thompson, Manitoba against the Norman North Stars.
On Sunday, Kenora lost a 7-3 decision to the North Stars.
Saturday, the Thistles were beaten 4-1.
Cayson Lambert scored in each game, with Carter Peters and Cole Bodnar added singles in Sunday’s game.
The Thistles are back in action on Wednesday when they host the Winnipeg Wild at the Moncrief Construction Sports Center.
In the NorWOSSA hockey league tonight, the Red Lake Rams boys team travels to Dryden to face off against the Eagles.
