Parts of northwestern Ontario can expect some snow over the next day or so.
Steven Flisfeder is a meteorologist with Environment Canada and says the Kenora area is expected to see the worst of the system.
“Should be getting into some snow later this afternoon, into the early evening, so right around rush hour, as is fairly often the case unfortunately,” says Flisfeder.
“That snow is going to continue though the overnight and through most of tomorrow as well.”
Flisfeder says it’s because of a storm system that will be entering northwestern Ontario later today.
“The main system that’s crossing your area is an Alberta Clipper, but it’s going to be tapping into some moisture overnight and into tomorrow morning from a Colorado or Texas low, so it’s a bit of a combo, but the main culprit would be the Alberta Clipper.”
Flisfeder says Kenora, Dryden and Fort Frances can expect anywhere from 5 to 10 centimeters of snow before the system leaves the region.
