Audrey Marlene Lush
November 24, 2023 – July 27, 1962
Audrey Lush, aged 61 years passed peacefully away after a lengthy illness on Friday, November 24th, 2023 at Dryden Reginal Health Center, Ontario.
Predeceased by her parents Michael Joseph Lush and Delores Mary (Yetman) Lush of St John’s, Newfoundland.
Leaving to mourn her devoted husband, Ronald Pleau and his boys (Trevor and Jordan); brother Michael Lush and his family: best friend Geri Dalton and her family: and Audrey’s beloved network of friends.
Audrey was born on July 27, 1962, in St John’s Newfoundland. She attended Memorial University of Newfoundland graduating from the School of Social Work with honors. She later completed her Masters in Social Work from the University of Waterloo.
After graduating with her Bachelors’ Degree in Social Work, she moved from Newfoundland to Northwestern Ontario and dedicated her nearly 20 year professional career to child protective services work in the Kenora and Dryden area. Due to illness, Audrey reluctantly retired but she always remained an advocate for social justice and inclusion for all.
Audrey was intelligent, strong willed and could be stubborn at times, but she also had an enormous heart and wonderful sense of humor. She was generous, loyal and fearless. She loved her partner Ron and his children, her brother Michael, her cats, connecting with her friends, good music, her flower garden, watching the birds as they gathered at the feeders, and her time spent quilting with her friend Joan Schneider and the quilters at the retreat.
Special thanks to the OPP and EMS services, as well as Dr. Barrie and hospital staff for all their care and compassion.
Cremation has already taken place. At Audrey’s request, there is no service planned.
