The Matawa Health Co-operative in partnership with the Sioux Lookout First Nations Health Authority will be hosting their second International Diabetes Day awareness walk.
The theme, this year, is “Empowering Global Health,” and participants have been encouraged to wear blue.

Matawa Elder Maggie Magiskan will be providing an opening prayer and Elder Daniel Magiskan will be speaking about living with diabetes.
The event will include information booths from participating community partners, a pre-walk warm-up exercise, a short walk around the Intercity Shopping Center and a cool-down.
Certified Diabetes Educators/Registered Nurses will also be on hand to provide information on diabetes.
The walk will get underway at noon at the Intercity Shopping Centre entrance by Pearl Vision.
