Motorcycle enthusiasts from across the region will take to the highway tomorrow to support the Alzheimer Society for Kenora-Rainy River District.
The Alzheimer Society for Kenora-Rainy River Districts stages its annual Ride for Memories.
Riders will leave Kenora, Fort Frances, and Dryden for a ride around the region before meeting back in Dryden for supper.
Event Coordinator Manveer Kaur says riders also raise funds for the organization through pledges received.
“This fundraising initiative is a great chance to help raise awareness and funds to support individuals and families living with Alzheimer’s disease or any other form of dementia. All the funds that we raise, they help our local communities with our various programs. For example, the support groups and the One to One help the family awareness, our music project, our art therapy program, touch Quilt project,” says Kaur.
Riders will meet up at 8 a.m. before heading out on the highway.
They will in Kenora at Cottage Time. Dryden participants will gather at the Husky House, while Fort Frances riders will start from the Harbourage.
Event Coordinator Manvir Cower says you can still take part by going to their website.
“You can register as a team, you can register as an individual, or you can participate in someone’s team to raise funds and donate to a team. And people can create their own team,” says Kaur.
You can donate to a rider or team by calling the Alzheimer’s Kenora office or visiting the website.
