Carolyn Potter
January 10, 1943 – June 28, 2023
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Carolyn Myrtle Potter, age 80 years, peacefully at home with her life partner Allen Petch at her side, on Wednesday, June 28, 2023.
Carolyn was born on January 10, 1943 in Sudbury, Ontario. She enjoyed working as a Bartender and later as a Manager at Subway. Carolyn had a passion for gardening and baking, and above all, enjoyed spending every available moment visiting with family and friends.
Carolyn is survived by her life partner Allen Petch; her children Shane (Dianne), Kelvin and Dell; step-children Matthew and Karen; grandchildren Amber (Jordan), Kierston (James), Nicole (Jeremy), Kaitlin (Krista), Casie (Cody); great-grandchildren Kolby and Svea as well as her siblings Joe (Judy), Butch (Andrea) and brother-in-law Peter. Numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives also survive.
She was predeceased by her parents, Roy and Mildred Prouty; siblings Elmer, Irene, and Dale; daughter-in-law Beth and sister-in-law Sally.
As per Carolyn’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a private family gathering will be held. Should friends so desire, donations made in memory of Carolyn to the Canadian Cancer Society would be greatly appreciated.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the WESTFORT CHAPEL, 420 West Gore Street at James, Thunder Bay.
