Our dad Gary Robert Oversby passed peacefully at the age of 69 on April 20th after his battle with dementia. Dad grew up in Dryden Ontario, with a love for the outdoors, sports and spending time with friends and family.
He was born in 1953 in Red Lake to Rita (Normand) and Robert Oversby. He spent his life in Dryden Ontario with his kids, family and friends where he’ll be remembered for dedicating his time to coaching hockey, spending time at his cabin & his good-natured teasing. Dad spent most of his life working as an electrician and would spend as much time as he could outdoors, hunting and fishing with loved ones.
Family was important to dad, he loved spending time with his sisters and brothers; Della & Kelly Huhn, Dianne & Rick Bishop, Allan & Margaret Oversby, Ardel & Kim Oversby, Gale & Greg Gamble, & David Oversby. He was always there for his kids; Ryan (Bryna Warren), Marcie (Mark Rustan), Blair (Jonna Dale) & Kendall (predeceased). Dad was very proud to have 6 grandsons who will carry on his love of sports and the outdoors. The time he spent with his nieces and nephews was very special to him with lots of memories at camp and family gatherings.
