A Dryden High School teacher has been honoured with this year’s Leonard Sky “Building Bridges” award.
Sherry Paquin was presented with the award last week.
The award recognizes an individual, business, or organization which has demonstrated leadership in enhancing diversity, respect, harmony, equality, and humility for others.
The Leonard Skye “Building Bridges” Award was conceived in 2015 to honour Leonard Skye, a long-time teacher, and Elder in the Dryden Area.
Principal at Dryden High School, Natasha Mousseau says Paquin is very deserving of the award.
“As a Teacher at Dryden High School, Sherry has brought the practices of Indigenous culture to life at our school in the service of educating our students, staff, and community,” says Mousseau.
“She has done this consistently throughout her career” shared Natasha Mousseau, Principal at Dryden High School.”
The award is now present by the Working Circle.
