Harvey Dale Murdick
February 26, 1960 – May 10, 2023
With heavy hearts, we are sad to announce the sudden passing of Harvey Dale Murdick at the age 63 at the Dryden Regional Health Centre on May 10, 2023.
Harvey is survived by his partner Linda Robinson, His mother Marlyn Murdick, his two Daughters Edana (Darren Brown) and Brienne (Steve) Sergeant of New Zealand, two grandsons Taylor and Jacob Sergeant, step children Carley Robinson (Dennis Martel) and Justin (Seanisty) Robinson, step grandchildren Abby, Grayson & Ryder, his sisters Sharon (Steve Adams) Oxdrift and Joy-Lynn (Stan) Epps Duncan, BC, niece’s Terri-Lynn (Shawn) Sheridan (Ellie and Sierra), Meghan Epps (Ethan, Zander & Skylar) and nephew Curtis (Jane) Epps.
Harvey was predeceased by his dad Melvin and brother Terry, his grandparents Annie and John Murdick as well as Jim & Ellen Tuckey.
Harvey was born in Dryden Ontario on February 26, 1960 at the Dryden Regional Health Centre to Melvin and Marlyn Murdick.
He grew up in Dryden attending Hillcrest and Pinewood Schools and graduated from Dryden High School.
Harvey began his career at McKinstry Chrysler as an apprentice obtaining his mechanic’s license. From there he went to work at Wilsons office equipment repairing office equipment. He then went back to mechanical work at Kindelane Trucking and then finally to Iron Range Bus Lines.
Harvey will always be known as a fishing legend. His happy place was always on the lake, and would rather be there than anywhere else, even going by himself at times. He would take anyone who wanted to go fishing, to his special spots, some of them were quite the adventure to get to.
In his younger years he was part of the Dryden Lo-Loc Off Roaders 4 x 4 club, out in the bush with his friends, where the whole idea was getting stuck and covered in mud. He loved playing broomball and softball where he was part of teams in Dryden and Fort Frances for many years. His daughters will always remember his Frankenstein Jeep that he built himself and spent every day after fixing it
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday May 20 at the Dryden community funeral home at 11 am.
