Today is the kickoff to Sioux Lookout’s Sioux Mountain Winter Festival!
It’s the long-awaited return of the previously annual winter festival, brought back by Sioux Lookout’s Chamber of Commerce.
Over the next four days, the community will be able to take part in a variety of family-friendly winter activities – including a snow sculpture contest, a meet and greet with the Bombers, family skating, dodgeball, dog sled rides, prizes and two nights of SIJHL hockey action.
Today’s events include the snow sculpture contest beginning at 9 a.m. at the Travel Info Centre, with a Pickleball tournament between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m.
Other events today include a Superhero Party at the Sioux Lookout Library, a cardboard box sliding party, chilli at Sioux Mountain and ‘the Great Bean Hunt’ at the Hub.
You can find the full list of this week’s events on Sioux Mountain Winter Festival’s Facebook page.
