For the second year in a row, there will be a Pitch it competition.
Business or individuals in the Kenora and Rainy River District can register to have their idea or business proposal as part of the competition.
Allyson Pele from the Northwest Business Center says the top proposals will be judged.
“An internal judging panel will narrow it down to five finalists,” explains Pele.
“Those five finalists will go through a formal Pitch It training, so you’re really going to polish your business pitch and then you’ll have a pre-recording, but the whole program will air virtually on April 20th at 6 pm.”
Pele says the deadline to enter the Pitch-it competition is March 15th.
“Any business or any person with a business idea located in the Kenora or Rainy River District can apply. The application is really straight forward and simple, but what you really want to show is that there is a need for your business, that you can actually operate your business in the region.”
The winner will take home first prize of $5,000, with the second prize worth $3,000, and third is $2,000.
There is also a people’s choice award for the first time ever for $1,000.
