Ice anglers will be out on the Wabigoon this weekend in Dryden.
The 2023 Dryden Kinsmen Ice Fishing Derby is taking place on Sunday at the Government Docks on Wabigoon Lake.
The Dryden Kinsmen Club explains the family fun event helps raise funds for the group, before they donate those funds to support community projects later in the year.
Entry fees are set at $20 per hole, $50 per a family of 4 and additional holes are $10 each. Registration begins at 11 a.m. and anglers will be able to fish between 1 p.m. and 3 p.m.
The annual ice fishing tournament took a two-year pause in 2020 and 2021 due to COVID-19, but successfully returned last year at the Government Street docks.
Anglers are reminded that Ontario’s Fishing Regulations will be in effect, you should get there early to choose your hole and you’re asked to bring your own pail.
