The final of the NorWOSSA boys hockey championship will be decided tonight.
The Beaver Brae Broncos take on the Sioux North Warriors in game three of their semifinal.
The Warriors won game one 5-3 last Thursday night, and the Broncos came back with a 4-1 win last night.
Game 3 will take place at the Moncrief Construction Sports Center (Kenora Rec. Center) at 4:30 this afternoon.
The winner will play the Fort Frances Muskies in the best-of-three league final starting on Wednesday night.
The Muskies defeated the Dryden Eagles in two straight games.
One medal was won by area skiers at the all-Ontario Nordic Ski championships in Lakefield.
Gavin Berube from Ignace High School finished first in the junior boys’ high school division.
Cooper Rissanen from Atikokan High School was 66th.
In the high school junior girls event, Sadie Wood of Red Lake was 6th, Kieran Faulds of Red Lake was 11th, and Brooklynn Dumontier, also from Red Lake, was 18th.
Kacie Mota of Red Lake High School had the best finish among NWOSSA competitors in the high school seniors event with a 24th place showing.
Karlyn Rissanen from Northern Lakes School was 34th in the same race.
Elizabeth Young, also from Northern Lakes School, finished 36th out of 72 competitors.
The NorWOSSA curling championships are taking place at the Kenora Curling Club.
