Dryden’s Domtar has made a $1,000 donation to help kids access a healthy breakfast.
The Dryden Minor Hockey Association provides free ice time for hockey players on Tuesdays and Thursdays at the Dryden Memorial Arena before school starts, with a hot breakfast afterwards.
“It’s heartwarming knowing these volunteers are so dedicated to the kids,” says Domtar Dryden’s General Manager, Marie Cyr. “Seeing our community come together like this and being able to support these initiatives is important to Domtar.”
Now, thanks to Domtar’s donation, parents and grandparents who volunteer to make breakfast for players will all be getting some help on the program’s food costs, which is set to wrap up in March.
The Dryden Minor Hockey Association says their skill-development ice times will see between 30 and 60 skaters each week.
