The Thunder Bay North Stars have climbed to within two points of the Sioux Lookout Bombers for third place in the SIJHL standings.
The North Stars earned a 2-1 overtime win over the Bombers last night.
With the win Thunder Bay has 44 points and the Bombers 46, with the Bombers still having a game in hand.
Ty Bahm scored the lone goal of the game for the Bombers.
In girls high school hockey, the Dryden Eagles downed the Sioux North Warriors 8-1.
Molly McMurrich and Caitlyn Sapay each had a pair of goals to lead the Eagles offense.
The Eagles can finish first in the league standings but need a point from tonight’s game against Fort Frances to finish first in the league.
The Muskies defeated the Saints in overtime last night, so the Saints picked up a single point for the overtime loss.
The other game tonight will see the Sioux Lookout Warrior take on the Beaver Brae Broncos.
The play-offs start next week with and the match-ups will be determined by tonight’s results.
