A major project will be on the table tonight at City Hall.
During the City of Dryden’s Committee of the Whole meeting, Mayor Jack Harrison and Council members are expected to discuss a new Site Plan Agreement between the city and the Dryden Hotel Group for control of 325 Government Street.
325 Government Street is a plot of land between Dingwall Ford and RONA, and it could become a four-story micro-hotel with 76 rooms and 160 parking stalls in the future. An existing commercial building would stay on the property, and room would be left for future developments and add-ons.

Councillors will also be discussing a request from the Dryden Food Bank to help lower the facility’s annual property taxes.
A report from staff shows the Food Bank currently receives a 40 per cent rebate from the city for the amount the organization pays for their location at 62 Queen Street, which is standard for eligible charities, but they’re asking for a 100 per cent rebate moving forward.
The city has an annual budget allocation of $40,000 for its Charitable Tax Rebate Program, and the rebate for the Dryden Food Bank is expected to cost about $5,530.
Councillors will be voting on these issues at their regular Council meeting on February 27 at City Hall.
