Kenora’s curlers are ready to see some action!
The Northern Ontario Curling Association’s Provincial Championships will be taking place at the Kenora Recreation Centre until January 29.
The winner of the Men’s side will go on to the Tim Horton’s Brier, and the winner of the Women’s side will be at the Scotties Tournament of Hearts – both representing Ontario.
There are 11 teams for the Men, with 2 from Kenora, including the Josh Szajewski rink from the Keewatin Curing Club and the Ryan Meadows foursome from the Kenora Curing Club.
There are also seven women’s teams in the field.
Tickets are available online on the Kenora Curling Committee’s website, as well as Home Hardware and the Lake of the Woods Discovery Centre.
Event and day passes are both available.
The opening ceremonies will begin at 6:30 Wednesday night with the women’s final at 2:00 on Sunday, followed by the men’s final at 6:00.
The Northern Ontario Curling playdowns were supposed to take place in Kenora last year, but were cancelled because of COVID restrictions.
