The Dryden Eagles traveled north to play the Warriors on yesterday, returning with a split in basketball.
The day began with the Junior boys carving out a 25-24 win on the strength of an 11-0 second quarter.
The Warriors outscored Dryden in the second half but could not get the last point needed against a determined Eagle defense.
In senior play, the Warriors prevailed 67-56
Talen Zoccole hit 4 three pointers in the opening frame for Sioux to open a 25-8 lead.
Dryden would outscore the hosts in the next period and play even the rest of the way.
Cooper Groves scored 14 and Jett Livingston 15 for the Eagle.
Zoccole’s final tally was 27.
In the SIJHL tonight, the Dryden GM Ice Dogs are taking on the Lakers in Fort Frances. Game time is 7:30 at the Ice For Kids Arena.
The Sioux Lookout Bombers are up against the Miners in Red Lake. That game is also slated to start at 7:30
